  • Do your WaterBars remove microplastics recently featured in the news?

Our WaterBars remove all particles larger than 0.6 microns from the water. The plastic particles found in the recent tests at the State University of New York were larger than a human hair which is on average 75 microns across and so microplastics will be removed.

  • What's the difference between a WaterBar and a water filter jug?

Like a WaterBar, most filter jugs use a filter to remove substances like chlorine from tap water. Chlorine is added to water to prevent Bacteria breeding in water. However once the chlorine has been removed, water can become a breeding ground for bacteria.
That’s why our WaterBars have a UV lamp, to inactivate these microorganisms and prevent them from multiplying once the Chlorine has been removed from water. In fact our WaterBars kill 99.99999% of health- concern waterborne bacteria in water* Not to mention our WaterBar removes the need for re-filling jugs, taking up fridge space and needing a separate kettle.
    * as proven by Israeli standard for domestic drinking water treatment appliance standard 1505 – using 4 groups/strains of water borne bacteria (E.coil, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, total coliform, fecal coliform, streptococcus groups count)

  • How do the costs compare?

What’s more our WaterBars offer some serious features, 3 different temperature settings (you won’t need a kettle or use valuable fridge space), unrivalled levels of filtration and purity and a host of smart features. We’ve created an easy comparison here

  • What if I move house?

We offer re-installation at a new UK mainland address. Firstly, disconnect the WaterBar by following the instructions here. Take the WaterBar to your new address and call us to arrange for a technician to come and re-install the WaterBar. If you change your mind after installation but during your 30-day satisfaction guarantee we will refund everything minus your £25 upfront payment.

  • How much power does a WaterBar use?

All WaterBars are used differently, so it’s hard to say. But we’ve carried out independent testing with the Water Regulation Advisory Service to compare the WaterBar with a domestic kettle and the WaterBar was 32% more energy efficient.
    Testing was based on:
    · filling four cups with boiling water each day
    · having the WaterBar set in energy-saving mode for eight hours a day (like when you’re asleep).
    Power used:
    · WaterBar: 0.02 kWh for one cup of boiling water on average – or 128.448 kWh a year.
    · Kettle: 0.11 kMh for one cup of boiling water on average – or 169.433 kWh a year.
That means the WaterBar uses 32 per cent less energy than a kettle.[AA1]
Not only that, 75 per cent of people admit they use too much water when boiling the kettle. This uses even more energy. And 40 per cent of UK households boil the kettle more than five times a day. (Source: At Home with Water report, published by the Energy Savings Trust in July 2013.[AA2] )
So, the more you use your kettle, the more energy you could save with a WaterBar.
