Can I install a WaterBar myself?
Our WaterBars can only be installed by one of our own WRAS and EDWCA trained Virgin Pure engineers (those impressive-looking acronyms mean that our engineers are very special and very clever). As well as making sure you get a quality installation, this also ensures the warranty of your onsite repair or replace service which is included when you join Virgin Pure.
Where can it go?
Your WaterBar can go wherever you choose in your home or office – as long as it’s within two metres of an electrical socket and within 15 metres of the mains water supply. We recommend not to position the WaterBar too close to a continuous heat source, otherwise it might get all hot under the collar and not work at its best. Your installation engineer will be more than happy to advise you on the best location when he visits – you can even try a few different countertop positions before settling on what’s best for you
Can I install a WaterBar inside a cabinet or a recess?
Just like your dad advises for all electrical appliances, it’s necessary to leave a 10cm gap between the back of the WaterBar and the wall, to allow adequate air circulation (because we all like a bit of ventilation while we’re working, otherwise we need fanning down). If you want your WaterBar installed inside a recess (built-in) your visiting engineer will need to make sure that it’s at least 38cm high by 45 cm deep. But why would you want to hide your beautiful WaterBar?!
I don’t want it in my kitchen, where else can it go?
Get you. Fair enough! Not a problem though – we’ve put WaterBars in all sorts of places; in offices, playrooms, studies, conservatories, you name it. Your WaterBar can go wherever you choose within two metres of an electrical socket and within 15 metres of the mains water supply.
How is a WaterBar installed?
The installation is carried out by one of our own WRAS and EDWCA trained engineers. The WaterBar is installed by connecting it via a 6mm flexi tube to your mains supply through a small pencil-size hole in your kitchen countertop. It can go anywhere within two metres of an electrical socket and within 15 metres of the mains water supply.
Can you install a WaterBar if I have a granite worktop?
Yes! Why, granite is of no worry to our engineers. They’ve had all sorts of specialist training and they’re very impressively equipped so they can work with all surfaces like granite, marble and corian work surfaces. You won’t feel a thing (neither will your countertop).
